Indigenous Research

Want to read about some all stars in my Undergraduate Indigenous Research Classes?

When I started my PhD program, I always knew I wanted to teach Indigenous Research methods. Here are some of my students brilliant research .... tribalcollegejournal.org/my-kind-of-waste-of-time-indigenous-student-research-at-dine-college/

What is Unethical Research Recruitment -
Don't Do what nez did....Let's start there

I spend a lot of time guiding my students through ethical research practices, both in Western and Native realms. We often think that we as Native can't do unethical research... Well, we can... and here is a case scenario in which the Former Navajo Nation President, Jonathan Nez and his office unethically recruited Navajo participants during COVID-19 through guilt, coercion, and bullying. It's the tea for sure - but it is also a GREAT Native American Studies Indigenous Research teaching moment. So if you want to know what not to do in terms of Indigenous research recruitment, read this OP ED: ictnews.org/opinion/politics-of-distrust-the-navajo-nations-use-of-propaganda-devices-to-recruit-participants-for-covid-19-trial-vaccine/
